1Agreement to These Terms
StudyTrack is developed and provided by Deepak Dhanoliya, an individual developer based in India. These Terms apply to every version of the App, free and Premium, on every device you use it on.
The App is not directed to children. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for any purchase you make.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and forms part of these Terms.
2What StudyTrack Does
StudyTrack is a study timer and tracker. It helps you time focus sessions, organise your study by subject, and see your progress through statistics, streaks, achievements, and home-screen widgets. Depending on your device and version, it also offers features such as focus sounds, an optional App Blocker (Android), and optional backup & sync to your own Google Drive.
The App works offline and does not require an account. Your study data is stored on your device (see section 6).
StudyTrack is a productivity tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, or educational advice, and we do not promise any particular result — such as better grades or exam outcomes — from using it.
3Free Version & Ads
The core of the App is free to use. On Android, the free version may offer opt-in rewarded ads: an ad is shown only if you choose to watch one to unlock an optional action. How advertising works, and the data involved, is described in the Privacy Policy, section 1e. Premium users see no ads.
Which features are free and which require Premium is decided by us and may change over time (see section 10).
4StudyTrack Premium
aThe Purchase
- StudyTrack Premium is a one-time in-app purchase made through Google Play. It is not a subscription, and you will never be charged again for it.
- The price is shown in the App and on Google Play before you buy, in your local currency. Any taxes are calculated and collected by Google Play.
- Payment is processed entirely by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service. We never receive your card or payment details.
- Premium unlocks the features listed on the App's upgrade screen at the time you buy, such as removing ads, cloud sync, advanced statistics, and additional customisation.
bWhat “Lifetime” Means
Premium is sold as a “Lifetime” purchase. This means:
- You keep Premium for the lifetime of the App — for as long as we continue to offer and support StudyTrack — without paying again. It does not refer to your lifetime or to any fixed number of years.
- Premium is tied to the Google account used to buy it. You can restore it on a new or reset device signed in to the same Google account using “Restore purchase” in the App.
- Premium is a licence to use the Premium features, not a sale of the App or of any software.
- Premium features may be improved, changed, replaced, or removed over time as the App evolves (see section 10). Where the App says Premium includes future premium features, that describes our current intention in good faith; it is not a promise that any particular feature will be built.
cPremium Is Personal
Premium is for your personal use. It cannot be sold, transferred, or moved to a different Google account, except as Google Play itself allows (for example, through Google Play Family Library where supported).
5Refunds
Because payment is processed by Google, refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policies. You can request a refund from Google Play as described in Google Play's refund help page. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly, but if you run into a problem with a purchase, please contact us and we will try to help.
If a purchase is refunded, cancelled, or charged back, Premium is removed from the account it was bought with.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the consumer protection laws that apply to you.
6Your Data, Backups & Data Loss
StudyTrack is local-first. Your study sessions, subjects, goals, settings, and other data are stored on your device. We operate no servers, so we do not hold a copy of your data and cannot recover it.
Data stored on a device can be lost — for example if you uninstall the App, clear its data, reset, lose, or replace your device, or if an operating-system update, storage failure, or software bug affects it.
You are responsible for backing up your data. The App gives you ways to do this:
- Manual backup — export a backup file and keep it somewhere safe, and import it later.
- Cloud backup & sync (Premium) — keeps a copy in a private folder in your own Google Drive. It depends on Google's services, your Google account, and a network connection, and it may not capture changes made while it is turned off or unable to connect.
We work hard to keep the App reliable, but to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any loss or corruption of your data, including study history that cannot be restored because no backup exists.
7Acceptable Use
You may use the App for your own personal, lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the App in a way that breaks any law or the rights of others.
- Copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer, or disassemble the App, except to the extent the law allows this despite this restriction.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with the Premium unlock, purchase verification, advertising, or any other part of how the App works — including by using modified versions of the App.
- Distribute, sell, rent, or publish copies or modified versions of the App.
- Generate fake ad views or clicks, or otherwise abuse the advertising or third-party services the App relies on.
- Use the App to harm, overload, or attack any device, network, or service.
You must also follow the terms of Google Play and any other platform you obtain the App from.
8Third-Party Services
The App relies on services provided by others, including Google Play, Google Play Billing, Google Drive, Google AdMob, PostHog, and Sentry (listed in the Privacy Policy, section 3). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their availability, changes, or conduct.
9Intellectual Property
The App — including its code, design, name, logo, graphics, text, and sounds — is owned by Deepak Dhanoliya or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. The StudyTrack name and logo may not be used without our permission.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, in line with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Your study data belongs to you. We claim no ownership of the sessions, subjects, notes, or other content you create in the App.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you agree that we may use them to improve the App without any obligation to you.
10Availability & Changes
We aim to keep StudyTrack working well, but we do not guarantee that the App will:
- always be available to download, or remain on Google Play;
- operate without interruption, delay, or errors;
- work on every device, operating-system version, or configuration, or keep working after a device or operating-system update; or
- keep features that depend on third parties (such as Google Drive sync or in-app purchases) working if those services change or become unavailable.
We may update the App, and add, change, or remove features — free or Premium — at any time. Some updates may be required to keep using the App or certain features.
11Discontinuation & Termination
We may stop developing, supporting, or offering the App, or Premium, at any time. Where practical, we will try to give reasonable notice in the App or on this website. If that happens, a copy of the App already installed on your device may continue to work for as long as your device supports it, but it will no longer receive updates or support, and features that depend on third-party services may stop working. Discontinuation does not by itself entitle you to a refund, except where required by law or by Google Play's policies.
We may suspend or end your right to use the App if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Remember to back up any data you want to keep first (see section 6).
Sections 6, 9, 12, 13, and 15 continue to apply after these Terms end.
12Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that your data will be preserved.
13Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, study history, time, grades, opportunities, or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
- Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for StudyTrack Premium, or, if you have not purchased Premium, to zero.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
14Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. If a change is significant, we will try to let you know in the App. By continuing to use the App after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.
15Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the next paragraph, any dispute arising from these Terms or the App will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
If you live outside India, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and nothing in this section takes those rights away.
Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
